Six of the best

An intriguing weekend of games on TV and our Charlie Highbury has run the rule over these tough contests. It starts on Friday and goes through until Sunday nights French classic.

Wigan vs Bristol City          Friday – Sky 7.45pm

Friday night sees too solid championship sides clash at the DW stadium in what should be a good contest. With both sides being relatively strong in the championship it will be a tough game. Hopefully for Wigan star man “ Will Griggs is on fire” will come out and score a couple for them. I feel that with Wigan being at home and Bristol losing key defender Flint in the summer to Middlesbrough that they wont be able to keep a clean sheet and Wigan will win this one. Bristol also lost their key attacking threat and talisman Bobby Reid to Cardiff and Im nopt confident either that they have much firepower left.

Game Changers: Grigg, Powell, Diedhiou and Diony

Back Wigan to win at 23/20 with Bet365

Fulham vs Watford    Saturday 12.30pm Sky

Fulham hosts the Hornets at Craven Cottage this Saturday in what should be an exciting London derby. Fulham have had an interesting and testing start only winning 1 game so far although they have shown promise. Watford on the other hand have been brilliant and have taken down teams like Spurs and have won every game bar one this season. With this sort of form and being a fantastic team to watch I see Watford winning this one comfortably against a Fulham side struggling to find their feet back in the Premier league again.

Game Changers: Seri, Sessengnon, Pererya and Deeney

Back Watford at 15/8 with Bet365

Brighton vs Tottenham               Saturday 5.30pm BT Sport

Brighton take on Tottenham at home this weekend in what usually would be a walk over game for Tottenham, However with Brightons recent form being so brilliant and Tottenham losing three games on the bounce, it looks like it could be another upset for Pochettino. With Brightons Glenn Murray of all people being in great goal scoring form and Tottenham seeming to be all at sea. With confidence being so high at the moment for one and so low for the other I can fully see Brighton taking this one or at the very least getting a draw.

Game Changers: Knockeart, Murray, Kane, Alli

Back Brighton and the draw at 23/20 with Bet365

West Ham vs Chelsea    –  Sunday 1.30pm Sky Sport

The Olympic stadium sees the return of one of the great London derbys, that sees so much passion and enthusiasm, I’m sure they will not disappoint. West Ham haven’t quite had the start they were dreaming of, especially given that they spent so much in the window, however after getting a win under their belts against high flying Everton I think it will be a very different game to the one that is anticipated. Chelsea have been high flying in the Premier league this year and have won every game, but I still feel there is something lacking in the Chelsea side and I don’t think they have been really tested so there could be a bit of complacency from the side.

Game Changers: Arnautovic, Anderson, Hazard and Willian

Back West Ham and the draw at 7/4 with Bet365

Arsenal vs Everton  –     Sunday 4.00pm Sky Sport

Arsenal host Everton on Sunday and from recent years I think that it will be really high scoring. Arsenal have had great form recently winning all four games and Everton just lost at home to West Ham, who had lost every game until they took the trip to Merseyside and battered them, to put it plainly. On paper Arsenal are the better side and with their attacking line up being in impressive form I see them scoring a lot of goals but they do concede as well so we could be in for a feast with lots of attack and some fairly average defending.

Game Changers: Aubameyang, Lacazette, Richarlison and Walcott

Back over 3.5 goals at 6/5 with Bet365

Lyon’s Mariano Diaz Mejia, right, heads the ball during their French League One soccer match against Marseille in Decines, near Lyon, central France

Lyon vs Marseille  – Sunday 8.00pm BT Sport

This is the first European game to feature on the six of the best and what a way to start. This clash sees two giants of French football and two of the best sides in the league go head to head. Lyon and Marseille both possess class but probably at either ends of the field, Marseille have a strong and well organised defence whereas Lyon have a strong attacking line up. For me Lyon will be the ones scoring the goals due to the fact as I’m writing this they are leading against Manchester City. With Depay and Fekir being a scary front line the are going to win this.

Game Changers: Fekir, Depay, Gustavo and Rami

Back Lyon to win at 5/4 with Bet365
